JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Analyst at Argano will be responsible for handing all global payroll reconciliations in relation to payroll, benefits and expenses in the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and India. This role will focus on data and ensuring accuracy while also providing analytical insights and reporting for finance. This position will work directly with members of the global Payroll and People teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll accounting, tax compliance, and general ledger management.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll general ledger transactions accurately and in compliance with Finance policies and regulations.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy in expense allocation, cash, and liability accounts.
- Prepare and post payroll journal entries in accordance with accounting principles and company procedures.
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll accounting close processes.
- Analyze payroll expenses, variances, and trends to support financial decision-making.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll records, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Payroll teams to ensure payroll-related financial accuracy.
- Assist in process improvements and system enhancements to optimize payroll, general ledger, and accounting workflows.
- Audit payrolls for accuracy.
- Identify variances: Determine any discrepancies between the payroll register and the departmental entries.
- Consult with personnel on the People Team or Payroll for explanations of any discrepancies, such as unauthorized deductions, earnings, or adjustments made post-payroll processing.
- Audit and investigate discrepancies and variances. Report any discrepancies and variances to the Payroll Manager and Direct, HRIS.
- Calculate outstanding Commissions/Bonuses to be paid.
Minimum and/or Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of experience in payroll accounting reconciliation in the US, Canada, Mexico, Argentina or India
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data in a clear and meaningful way.
- Experience with data reconciliation and data quality assurance processes
- Experience with ADP WFN, ADP Vista or ADP Celergo highly preferred
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Attention to detail along with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
