What you'll do:
The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate the successful execution of the build and configuration of Payspace payroll products ensuring compliance with local tax legislation in new countries earmarked for PaySpace by Deel’s expansion.
Conducting in-depth analysis of advisory packs, initiating clarifying discussions with advisors, and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of country-specific requirements.
Defining project requirements across various team pillars, identifying and assessing new system requirements, and escalating complex issues to the Lead for resolution.
Write specifications, and coordinate tasks with Payroll Business Analysts and QA. Collaborate with the in-country Compliance team (BA/QA) and in-country UAT to ensure product delivery is aligned with country specific requirements.
Obtaining country build approvals, conducting post-deployment evaluations, and maintaining compliance and quality standards in project builds are also vital aspects of this role
Key Responsibilities:
Research country-specific Legislative regulations ensuring compliance with the appropriate Tax Authority
Translation of related legislative documents from the official language of the build country to business English.
Configure and test payroll elements for compliance, and create clear, developer-friendly documentation to drive accurate coding by the Development Department
Advisory Pack Analysis
Analyse advisory packs and hold meetings to clarify legislative compliance requirements.
Build Requirements Definition
Define and document functional and legislative build requirements with Payroll BAs.
Identification of new system requirements
identify and escalate new system configuration for country-specific legislative requirements
Lead country legislative build, manage task delivery and communicate any delays to ensure timely project completion.
Product Configuration & Testing
Collaborate to create specifications and development tickets for payroll calculations and features.
Ensure product delivery aligns with country-specific requirements and resolve configuration & compliance issues.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Collaborate with BAs and QA to ensure project builds meet legislative compliance standards.
Document Country Build Configurations
document and create training materials for country build
Post Go-Live Handover
conduct post-deployment meetings to the relevant stakeholders.
Experience:
Payroll Expertise: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll configuration, with deep knowledge of payroll payment items, codes, and country-specific legislative requirements.
Technical Configuration: Proven ability to configure formulas, categorize pay elements, and maintain statutory rates, tables, and country-specific fields.
Analytical Skills: Strong aptitude for analyzing, interpreting, and critically evaluating information from in-country advisors and other sources.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success in working effectively with Product, Quality Assurance, and Development teams.
Excel Proficiency: Intermediate skills, including lookups, formulas, and advanced data manipulation.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to handle complex scenarios.
Requirements Translation: Skilled in translating functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, ensuring compliance with legislative and product standards.
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
3 years of experience in product configuration.
Familiarity with programming language calculations, such as JavaScript.
