Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist for our client to manage end-to-end payroll processing and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in payroll legislation, accounting principles, and bookkeeping best practices, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Process employee payroll accurately and on time (monthly/bi-weekly, as applicable).
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, employee benefits, and statutory deductions (EOBI, gratuity, etc.).
- Prepare and submit payroll reports, pay slips, and tax filings.
- Handle payroll reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll-related employee queries.
Bookkeeping
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Maintain general ledger entries and reconcile bank statements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and labor laws.
- Assist with audits and financial reviews by providing required documentation.
- Keep records organized and audit-ready at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in payroll processing and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books).
- Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and labor regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
- Experience with payroll in Pakistan – EOBI, income tax, etc.
- Familiarity with cloud-based bookkeeping platforms.
- Certification in Payroll Management or Bookkeeping is a plus.
