Job Summary

The Payroll Manager at Relevant Industrial is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role requires deep expertise in payroll compliance across multiple states. The Payroll Manager will serve as the Paylocity subject matter expert and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure payroll accuracy and employee satisfaction

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Payroll Administration

· Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple companies on a bi-weekly basis for salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees.

· Administer payroll via Paylocity, ensuring data accuracy and timely submissions.

· Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and assist accounting with month-end close by calculating and preparing payroll-related accruals.


Systems and Reporting

· Serve as the payroll systems administrator in Paylocity for updates, configurations, and troubleshooting.

· Generate payroll reports for internal and external audits, tax filings and other tax jurisdiction reporting, 401(k) requirements, Census reporting and W-2 preparation.

· Collaborate with HR and Accounting to streamline data processes and reporting.


Employee Support and Communication

· Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries with accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.

· Manage and mentor direct reports. 

· Partner with HR to support employee onboarding and payroll setup processes.

· Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.





Requirements

 

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

· 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state processing.

· Experience with Paylocity is highly preferred.


Skills and Competencies:

· Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and tax regulations.

· Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.

· High attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations.

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Frequent communication with cross-functional teams via phone, email, or in person.

· Ability to focus and concentrate in an office environment with standard noise levels.·

 Visual acuity to view a computer screen and read printed materials.·

 Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
