Workday Payroll Architect or Manager
Makse Group is looking for an experienced, certified functional architect or manager to lead client engagements in our Workday HCM & Payroll Practice. The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of functional experience in the Workday Payroll product suite, with demonstrated success of implementing and supporting Payroll for the US and Payroll for Canada. Cross-functional, hands-on experience in implementing other HCM functional areas (e.g. Absence, Benefits, Time Tracking) is also required.
This role requires the ability to manage and support multiple engagements with competing needs, and to provide creative solutions to nuanced client problems. This role will be a key part of our growing HCM & Payroll Practice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Payroll and HCM workstreams for ongoing AMS client engagements, architecting solutions using an expert understanding of Workday functionality, methodologies, and best practices.
- Lead/architect Phase 1 and Phase X implementations of Workday Payroll for the US, Payroll for Canada, and other HCM/Payroll workstreams.
- Collaborate with other functional and technical workstream leads, actively contributing to solutions and testing for cross-functional touchpoints and third party/custom payroll integrations.
- Establish effective working relationships with teammates, client counterparts, Workday personnel, and third-party vendors.
- Identify enhancement opportunities for existing clients and assist clients in the evaluation of new system features.
- (Managers only) Manage, train and mentor junior staff, playing a key role in the growth and development of the Workday HCM & Payroll Practice.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 4+ years of direct functional experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll, as well as direct functional experience in the areas of Absence, Benefits and Time Tracking or other HCM modules.
- 4+ years of experience implementing Workday and ideally experience supporting clients in a post-go-live setting.
- The ability to discuss complex payroll concepts with seasoned payroll professionals, and a proven adeptness in architecting creative solutions for complex payroll requirements in Workday.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills; effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences is necessary.
- Current or previous certifications in Workday Payroll for the US, Payroll for Canada, and at least one other HCM module.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to support multiple customers concurrently on short and long duration projects.
- A desire to learn new concepts, methodologies, techniques, and tools.
- A degree or an advanced degree in either Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Human Resources Management, Engineering Management, Technology Management, or another field related to the industry.
